Power rating (kVA) 85.0 ~ 620kVA At the heart of T&R’s Volvo generating set is its engine from Swedish manufacturer Volvo Penta. Having water-cooling systems, the VS/M series is ideal for industrial and telecommunications power applications. Reliability, low vibration, class-leading load acceptance, high reliability and self diagnostic electronic engine management are just some of the premium features utilised in these units.

In co-operation with the latest Stamford or Mecc Alte alternators these sets offer something special. With a heavy-duty chassis /vibration mounts and the excellent DSE ULTRA controls, we ensure superior performance with the functions to match.

VS/M series generating sets are available in 50/60Hz as outlined in the specifications:

Model’s

A complete ‘ready-to-run’ specification with features as follows: Electronic engine governor, engine sump drain piping, 3-phase alternator, radiator with 40 degC ambient capability (50degC available as an option), radiator coolant drain piping.

Heavy-duty base frame with polyester powder coating, anti-vibration isolators between generator set and base, integral fuel tank (minimum 8 hours) with filler cap (models up to 900kVA), flexible fuel lines, a fuel tank level gauge, fuel /water separator, exhaust silencer

Generally the generators are coupled to Stamford’s brushless three phase synchronous alternators (the characteristic and technical data see the section "Alternators”

The generator set is constructed using diesel engine, synchronous alternator, base frame with integral fuel tank, control system, cooling system and other accessories. Different control systems include starting type manual (key start) and automatic with an optional Transfer Switch can be selected depending on the application.

The generator sets also have the option of being “SILENT” enclosed within a weatherproof and acoustic enclosure (standard rating 85dBa @ 1 metre). Sets can also be designed to include fully automatic transfer and automatic parallel with the mains or other systems.
